the best friend that will NEVER leave you

I was just going to do a status update on this but it would have turned into one of the status that is way to long and you would stop reading it half way through, so I thought Id write a blog post, hoping you would take the time to read it because this is soooo important to know!

Ok so I am a little behind, not only on my blogging but in reading my "What on Earth am I Here For," book by Pastor Rick Warren but that really isn't the point of this blog. As I was reading Day 12 on "developing your friendship with God," I had a realization. I have been through a lot just in the past 6 years of my life. Deaths, cancer, friendships gone, loneliness, lost, uncertainty ..I mean I've been through hurts and pains, just as I am sure you have. I get the anger you feel towards God when these kind of things happen and I also know that people tell you to just trust God, "He has a plan." BUT today, though this stuff has been instilled in me since I was a little girl, these words rung true.
This chapter talked about making God your best friend. A best friend must work at a relationship, must be honest with everything, must obey (you must obey God because even even though he is our best friend he is not our equal, so don't think you have to obey your best friend. God is our loving leader), we  must value what they value, and we desire the friendship.  That last part stood out to me. It talked about being passionate about God. I would say I am passionate and love my Lord and I think that I am worshiping him at all times and on a pretty good level with him but then I read things like this...."If you have just been going through the motions spiritually  DO NOT be surprised when God allows pain in your life." WOAH, ok, so like I said I thought I wasn't going through the motions but I guess I was wrong. God doesn't put hurt and pain in your life to punish you but to wake you up. "He is mad about you!!"

So who is the most important relationship in your life? Are you working daily to improve that relationship?  God will last FOREVER and will ALWAYS be there for you!

I can honestly say that when I was making time for God daily and actively pursuing a relationship with him my life was WAY better. So I am going to step it up because who likes a friend who doesn't make time for the other person??
